What happens during an orthopaedic consultation?

Dr. Vishal I. Murkute takes a detailed history of your pain or injury, examines the affected joint for movement, stability and strength, reviews any X-rays or MRI you bring, and explains the diagnosis along with the non-surgical and surgical options available to you.

Do I need an appointment?

An appointment is recommended so you get adequate consultation time, and same-day slots are often available. Walk-ins are seen as the schedule allows. Call or WhatsApp 070303 11311 to check availability.

Which tests may be needed?

Depending on your problem, the doctor may advise X-rays, an MRI scan for ligament, cartilage or disc problems, a bone density (DEXA) scan for osteoporosis risk, or blood tests for inflammatory arthritis. Only the tests that will change your treatment plan are advised.

Is surgery always necessary for knee or back pain?

No. Most knee, shoulder and back problems are first managed without surgery — activity modification, medication, injections and a structured physiotherapy programme. Surgery is discussed when symptoms persist despite these measures, or when the structural damage clearly warrants it.
