• Book a slot by phone, WhatsApp or the appointment form. Walk-in patients are seen as far as the day's schedule allows, but a booked slot reduces waiting.
• Gather your records: previous prescriptions, spectacle numbers, blood sugar and blood pressure reports, X-rays, MRI or CT films and CDs, and discharge summaries from any earlier surgery.
• Write down your main complaint, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and the questions you want answered. It is easy to forget them in the consultation room.
• If you have diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease or a bleeding disorder, or take blood thinners, mention it at the start — it changes both eye and orthopaedic planning.

• Registration: basic details are recorded at the front desk and your file is created.
• Preliminary testing: for eye patients, vision testing and eye pressure measurement; for orthopaedic patients, a review of your existing imaging.
• Doctor consultation: history, examination, explanation of the likely diagnosis, and discussion of options in plain language.
• Plan: prescription, any further tests needed, and a clear follow-up date. Ask for a written summary if you would like one to share with family.

Dilating drops are routinely used for retina evaluation, diabetic eye screening and cataract assessment. After dilation, near vision stays blurred and eyes are sensitive to light for about four to six hours. Carry sunglasses, avoid driving yourself home, and plan not to return to close screen work immediately afterwards. Dilation is safe and the effect wears off on its own.

• Complete the pre-operative measurements and fitness tests advised by the doctor before the date.
• Use the prescribed antibiotic drops exactly as instructed in the days before surgery.
• Arrange for a family member to accompany you on the day and to travel home with you.
• Follow the fasting instructions given for your specific procedure, if any.
• Continue your regular blood pressure and diabetes medicines unless the doctor has specifically told you otherwise, and keep sugar levels controlled in the days before surgery.

• Bring all imaging — X-rays, MRI, CT — and any earlier operative notes to the planning consultation.
• Complete the pre-anaesthetic check-up and blood tests advised for you.
• Tell the doctor about blood thinners, steroids, diabetes medicines and any allergy well before the surgery date.
• Prepare your home for recovery: a firm bed and chair, clear walking paths, a bathroom you can reach safely, and help available for the first few days.
• Start the pre-operative strengthening exercises if the doctor or physiotherapist has advised them.

Follow-up is part of the treatment, not an optional extra. Attend the review appointments you are given, use drops or medicines for the full duration prescribed even if you feel better, and follow activity restrictions during healing. Contact the clinic promptly if you notice increasing pain, redness, swelling, discharge, fever, sudden drop in vision, or a wound that is not settling.
